During the pre-race show in Sao Paulo, Will Buxton asked Lando Norris some questions about his relationship and friendship with Max Verstappen amid the title battle. Norris said he is not sure if he can separate the relationship on the track and in life.

Sometimes I just don’t understand how a person in a race can be so different from what he is in the paddock. This is the first time I’ve been in this situation and only with time we will understand what can change. But for now, I still respect Max and I think he respects me. But you’ll have to ask me again at the end of the year!”

“He does what he thinks he has to do. It may not always be the right thing, but he thinks it’s the right thing. And he always does what he thinks is right. He does what he has to do to keep me behind, because he’s under pressure, Red Bull are under pressure and they are not getting results. As a team, we have got the better of them, we are all doing the best we can. And the more pressure we put on them, the more mistakes they will make.”
