Haas sign American racer Crone for 2025 F1 ACADEMY campaign
Haas has signed American driver Krone for the 2025 F1 ACADEMY campaign.
Haas has become the latest team to confirm its plans for the 2025 F1 ACADEMY, with the American outfit deciding to field compatriot Courtney Crone in the women’s racing series.
The 23-year-old had already made her F1 ACADEMY debut as a wild card in the second round in Miami, narrowly missing out on points in Race 2. Currently competing in the North American Lamborghini Super Trofeo Championship, Crone has also previously raced in a variety of disciplines including speedway motorcycles, USAC Midget and Sprint cars on both dirt and asphalt, LMP3 prototypes and various junior formula cars.
Excited to join the grid and race with ART Grand Prix, Crone said: “I am incredibly honored to be joining the MoneyGram Haas F1 Team for the 2025 F1 ACADEMY season. Representing an American F1 team is a dream come true and I am so grateful for the opportunity.
Krone made his F1 Academy debut as a wildcard in Miami earlier this year.
“Ever since racing in the F1 Academy as a wildcard at the Miami Grand Prix, my goal has been to race full-time in the series. This experience gave me a taste of the challenges and dedication it takes to be a championship contender. Making the most of this incredible opportunity is my top priority, and with the MoneyGram Haas F1 Team, I feel I have the best chance to succeed.
Crones’ accomplishments include receiving the IMSA Diverse Driver Development Scholarship for 2023/2024 and the Gorsline Company Scholarship for 2021. She is also a three-time recipient of the Women’s Sports Foundation/Project Podium with Lynn St. James Award (2016, 2017, 2018) and a three-time recipient of the VMB Driver Development Scholarship (2017, 2018, 2020).
“We are pleased to welcome Courtney to the MoneyGram Haas F1 Team family,” added MoneyGram Haas F1 Team Principal Ayako Komatsu. “As the F1 Academy approaches the culmination of its first racing season on the F1 calendar, it’s incredible to see the interest and popularity of the category growing, which is testament to the hard work of Susie Wolff and the F1 team” the Academy to provide better opportunities for female drivers.
