Simone Biles joins Snoop Dogg as guest mentor for NBC episode of The Voice
Snoop Dogg and Simone Biles have turned their connection from the Paris Summer Games to the Olympics into a new endeavor: the superstar tandem will team up on NBC’s The Voice.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Snoop Dogg and Simone Biles have turned their connection from the Paris Summer Games to the Olympics into a new challenge: The superstar duo will team up on NBC’s “The Voice.”
Biles will appear with Snoop on Monday’s episode of the reality show. As a coach on the show, the rap star worked with Biles as a mentor during the playoff rounds, offering advice to the five singers vying for a spot on the live shows.
For Snoop and Biles, their pairing was a perfect match for the sports and music icons, carrying over their easy-going chemistry from the Olympics to the TV show The Voice.
“We could joke around with each other and give the artists a better idea of what to do for the next round,” Biles told The Associated Press in a recent interview with Snoop after he finished filming the episode in Los Angeles. “It was so easy, so simple,” added Biles, the most decorated gymnast of all time, with four medals, including three golds, at the recent Olympics. “We’re both so sweet. But if you need to get this energy boost, you can. For us, it was a confidence boost for next week.”
Biles may be known for her athleticism, but she also had a heart-to-heart with one musical contestant after the next. “The stages of learning are: learn, process, go back and work on it,” she said. “Everyone has the talent for singing. It’s about using it, knowing when to release it, what songs to sing and what genre you’re in. And what kind of legacy do you want to leave behind? This is truly a special show as well as the judging. They don’t get to see the physical appearance first. It’s all done by ear, listening and combining your skills.”
Despite their different career paths, Snoop and Biles respect each other’s ability to shine on the biggest stages.
“We’ve had very different careers. But what we were facing, they’re dealing with it now,” said Snoop, the ultra-smooth performer who took on the role of lead special correspondent on NBC’s record-breaking report. He serves as a coach on “The Voice” alongside Michael Bublé, Reba McEntire and Gwen Stefani, each trying to discover and teach the next singing phenomenon. Snoop said he felt the need to instill wisdom and confidence in each participant.
“We have the best experience and knowledge to impart to these artists,” he said. “She’s an artist; I’m an artist. We have worked in extreme conditions. We always do our best. But sometimes, things happen behind closed doors that you don’t know about. So we can talk to these people and really put them at ease.
Biles and Snoop had some high-profile moments during the Olympics. In both cases, they caught up to encourage Sydney Maclaflin Leblone during a 400 -meter obstacle race. He provided a golden necklace from his death to Ronald Billes on his 75th birthday. And when Vyls and his teammate Jordan Chile joined them, they saw dancing in the crowd during gymnastics in women’s gymnastics.
In the set, Viles often smiled while watching the snoop with his charismatic elements. “I knew Snoop was going to stay true to himself on ‘The Voice,’” she said. “It’s nice that he doesn’t have to be boxed in. There’s room for everyone.»
Snoop said it made sense for the two to collaborate on the episode.
“It’s a family. “It feels good,” Snoop said. “(Biles) can do whatever he wants. She picks and chooses what she wants to do. We’re at that point of our careers right now. It has to feel good. Don’t force it. Otherwise I can’t do it. “Dot, dot, space.”
