Max Verstappen attributes his inability to secure pole position at the Las Vegas GP to a shipping error by Red Bull.

Max Verstappen attributed his failure to contend for pole position to Red Bull’s issues with the rear wing.

Red Bull’s already disappointing track performance worsened due to a significant mistake. The team had intended to implement an upgrade for the rear wing at the Las Vegas GP, but Milton Keynes mistakenly packed the wrong setup of rear wings, preventing them from using the upgraded version. Max Verstappen attributed his missed chance at securing pole position in qualifying to this rear wing issue.

Max Verstappen had already encountered grip issues during the Las Vegas GP practice sessions. Additionally, the rear wing mishap posed another challenge for the team in America. Consequently, at 27 years old, he was unable to secure pole position at the circuit due to various problems with the chassis—particularly related to grip.

Verstappen reflected on the week’s overall performance, mentioning that the team had difficulties getting the tires to perform optimally over a lap. Moreover, he observed that trimming down the rear wing significantly affected their straight-line speed due to which they couldn’t match their rivals’ pace in DRS zones.
