Daniel Ricciardo receives first confirmed job offer with ‘open arms’ proposal
Daniel Ricciardo welcomes his first confirmed job offer with an ‘open arms’ proposal.
Daniel Ricciardo is considering his future options after being released by VCARB. Less than two weeks following his departure, the Australian has already received a job offer, with Supercars CEO Shane Howard planning to contact his management team.
Ricciardo’s stint in Formula 1 concluded suddenly last month after VCARB declared that the Singapore Grand Prix would be his final race with them. Instead, Liam Lawson will join Yuki Tsunoda for the Red Bull junior team over the remaining six races of the season, starting with the United States Grand Prix. This is being considered an audition for a potential F1 seat in 2025.
The decision essentially brings Ricciardo’s career to a close, even though Red Bull team principal Christian Horner suggested that if Sergio Perez or Lawson does not perform well, “we know what Daniel’s capability is.”
However, while Red Bull is eager to retain him in some capacity—PlanetF1.com has learned that he has been offered a chance to stay within their driver pool—no other teams have expressed interest. Additionally, Ricciardo is not considered a contender for the sole available seat at Audi next year.
The F1 door might be closed for the Honey Badger, but he has an offer on the table as Supercars are eager to bring him back home to Australia. “I think everyone would welcome Daniel with open arms, absolutely,” said Supercars chief Howard in an interview with News Corp. “Would we like to see Daniel Ricciardo in a Supercar? Definitely.” He added, “Just imagine if he could race one of our cars in a new street event in Perth; that would truly be something special! It would be incredibly significant.”
He is an exceptional driver with a magnetic personality, and people absolutely adore him.
