Mercedes star Antonelli replaced as team issues official statement
PREMA Racing has revealed a replacement for the departing Formula 1 pair, Kimi Antonelli and Oliver Bearman.
Stars of the Mercedes and Ferrari junior programmes, both competitors raced for PREMA in Formula 2 this season. Antonelli secured sixth place in the standings, while Bearman finished twelfth.
In 2024, Antonelli achieved two victories with the team, while Bearman earned three sprint race wins throughout the season. Due to their impressive performances in F2 and during tests for their new teams, both drivers will advance to full-time positions in F1 for the 2025 season.
With Bearman poised to join Haas, most of the attention will undoubtedly be on Antonelli as the young Italian star takes over Lewis Hamilton’s position at the Silver Arrows.
Replacing a seven-time world champion is already a daunting task, but the 18-year-old also carries high expectations for success in the sport. Spectators are eager to see his performance alongside Georg and anticipate great achievements from him.
