Lewis Hamilton makes trouble buzzing cryptic first social media post as an official Ferrari driver ahead of 2025

The Brit departed from Mercedes following the 2024 season and will be representing Ferrari this term.

British driver Lewis Hamilton is now officially a Ferrari F1 driver after departing from Mercedes, and he has already shared the news on social media.

Seven-time Formula One champion Hamilton, 39, has officially parted ways with Mercedes following the expiration of his contract on December 31, 2024. He concluded a remarkable 12-year stint as one of the team’s drivers.

During his time with the German manufacturer, he won the World Drivers’ Championship six times—in 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020. However, in his final season with Benz in 2024, he finished eighth in the drivers’ standings.

On January 1, 2025, he officially became a Ferrari driver after announcing the surprising move in February 2024. This announcement activated a break clause in his two-year contract with Mercedes that had been signed during the summer of 2023, as reported by RacingNews365.

In a conversation with F1.com in February 2024, the Brit described leaving Mercedes as the “toughest decision” he had ever faced.

“In the new year, an opportunity arose and I chose to seize it,” he said.

It was undoubtedly the toughest decision I’ve ever faced. Mercedes has supported me for around 26 years, and we’ve had an amazing journey together.

“We’ve made history in the sport, which fills me with great pride. I’m incredibly proud of our achievements.”

Hamilton is currently tied with legendary former Ferrari driver Michael Schumacher for the most F1 titles. It’s evident that the German icon serves as a significant source of inspiration for the ex-McLaren driver.

“Every driver growing up and watching the history, especially seeing Michael Schumacher in his prime, probably imagines themselves sitting in the garage. When you see that iconic red cockpit on screen, it’s natural to wonder what it would be like to be surrounded by all that red,” Hamilton added.

Details about Lewis Hamilton’s debut in a Ferrari Formula 1 car have surfaced as the 2025 season approaches.

In February, the F1 world was rocked by the news that seven-time world champion Hamilton would be departing from Mercedes.

The Brit, who joined the Brackley-based team in 2013, is set to make a high-profile transition to Ferrari for the upcoming season.

Starting with the 2025 season, Hamilton will be teaming up with Monegasque star Charles Leclerc.

Before the new season kicks off with testing in February, some details about Ferrari’s car have been revealed.

According to Racing News 365, significant changes are anticipated as the Italian team aims to compete with McLaren and Red Bull Racing for the world championship.

The report noted: “A significant and well-known modification is the switch from push-rod to pull-rod suspension at the front, which includes a re-design of the front chassis.”

“The rear suspension pull-rods will stay, but this doesn’t mean the kinematics at the rear won’t change. A further reduction in gearbox length is anticipated.”

Furthermore, it has been proposed that the sidepod air inlets will be repositioned and reduced in size to mitigate air turbulence originating from the front wheels.

At the conclusion of the 2024 season, Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur discussed their plans for the 2025 car.

What comments has Fred Vasseur, the team principal of Ferrari, made regarding their 2025 car?

According to Formule.nl, he mentioned: “We won’t be certain about the car’s competitiveness until we reach Bahrain. It’s often only in hindsight that you recognize the risks you’ve undertaken. The vehicle will be entirely new, with less than one percent of its components coming from the SF-24.”

“This is an entirely new project, but that’s true for every team. While we can’t declare 2025 as our year just yet, I am confident in the work we’re doing.”
