Simone Biles has said a temporary and heartfelt farewell to Chicago, but it may not be long before the Team USA superstar returns to the Windy City. On Sunday, Biles, who revealed why she wouldn’t get close to Taylor Swift, shared her parting words to the city she’s been living in for the past year while her other half Jonathan Owens is playing his first season with the Chicago Bears.
Taking to social media, the American gymnastics superstar posted a photo of the couple celebrating their time in Chicago, with the caption: “Goodbye Chicago time, see you in a few months.”
Hinting at her future plans, she dropped a significant hint on Instagram with a photo of her dog, writing: “Lil mamas traveling the country.” On the way back to Houston with @rfrdacademy’s finest.
Biles has been a regular at Bears games throughout the 2024-25 NFL season, often seen kissing Owens for good luck before kickoff.
Owens’ stats for the season include 49 tackles, two fumble recoveries, two pass deflections, and an interception. Owens relished the opportunity to give back to her home country after visiting Paris to cheer on Biles as she wins gold medals in the women’s individual, vault and team events at the 2024 Summer Olympics, Mirror US reported.
In an interview with Olympic.com, Biles expressed her excitement about watching the Bears compete: “Oh my gosh. “It means a lot to me,” she said, acknowledging how much it means to him that she’s there to encourage him.
Simone Biles shared how much it meant to her husband to see her on the bench before matches, explaining, “It’s really important for him that I come on the bench before the match, because he says that’s his pre-match routine.” Thus, he always seeks me on the side line to give him, like good luck, vibrations and wishes. Despite originating from Spring, Texas, Biles has embraced Chicago\’s infamous winters, remarking that they weren\’t as daunting as expected: \”Honestly, not bad,\” she said of the brisk weather. She noted a strange feeling about the cold: “Some days, 30 and 40 degrees (Fahrenheit) feel colder than, like, 17. But as long as I bundle up, I feel like I’ve been pretty good.”
