Charlie Woods: I’m going to dominate the 2025 golf season. Here’s why. -7
Tiger Woods’ teenage son Charlie made his first one-putt in the final round of the PNC Championship, but lost in a playoff to Bernhard and Jason Langer.
15-year-old Charlie Woods birdied the pars 3-4 to put the father-son team in the lead at the tournament, which features 20 major champions with their families. But it was Langer’s team that celebrated their second consecutive victory and fourth overall in Orlando, Fla., with Hermann Bernhard sealing the win with a birdie on the first hole of a playoff.
“It was amazing,” Charlie said. \”No one made a mistake today, so it was one of the funniest things I’ve ever had.
In addition to this, I made an ace. I don’t think I can do any better.
Tiger Woods was playing his first competitive match since the British Open in July.
The 15-time Grand Slam champion had his second back surgery in 18 months in September and admitted he was “nowhere near competitive” in the PGA exhibition tournament. But he believes he and his son Charlie “made a great team this week.”
“It’s just so wonderful to be here with my family and just spend time together and just enjoy each other’s company,” the 48-year-old added. Young Woods wasn’t the only player to make his first career hole-in-one on Sunday.
About 30 minutes after Charlie drilled the hole, Paddy Harrington was 21-year-old Paddy Harrington, the main winner of the three times, scored the eighth hole. “I’ve never been more excited. I’ve never been more excited to hit a shot,” Padraig Harrington said. Charlie, born February 9, 2009, is Tiger’s son with his ex-wife Elin Nordegren.
Nordegren and Woods married in 2004 and had two children together. Charlie’s sister, Sam, was born in 2007, but the couple divorced in 2010. Charlie became the youngest competitor in the PNC Championship when he entered at age 11 in 2020 with his father.
The pair tied for fifth in the event before finishing second in 2021. They finished eighth in 2022 and fifth in 2023 before finishing second again in 2024.
